Our Mission

Encourage organic and agroecological farming in the Nuevo Pozuzo region.

Encouraging sustainable practices that enhance community well-being, protect the environment, and provide the market with wholesome goods. By providing access to cutting-edge technologies, certification, and training, we are dedicated to assisting regional producers.

Our Vision

To be the Satipo-Rio Tambo region's premier organization for organic and agroecological farming.

Acknowledged for the excellence of our offerings and their beneficial influence on the welfare of our localities. Our goal is to create a sustainable future where agriculture preserves biodiversity and upholds indigenous peoples' cultural identities.

Our History

On November 16th, 2014, the Asociación de Productores Agroecológicos y Orgánicos Nuevo Pozuzo (APRONOP) was established. The association was initially established in the Nuevo Pozuzo region of Satipo-Rio Tambo in response to the need to implement more sustainable agricultural practices. Enhancing crop quality, protecting the environment, and providing a competitive substitute for traditional agricultural production techniques were the main goals.

Expansion and Certification (2017-2019): As APRONOP became more established, the association began working on obtaining organic certifications for its products. In order to make sure that production techniques adhered to international organic farming standards, this process involved the implementation of strict standards and audits.

Development (2019): We are seeing the addition of three new native communities to our organization: Shawari, Shanqui, and Chochoquiari. Since 35 indigenous families began growing coffee, they have produced up to 825 quintals of green coffee a year. (Eighty-five Ha.) Our Association is still working to address the difficulties that come with mutual integration, including language, culture, and distance.

Innovation and Sustainability (2023-2024): Over the past few years, APRONOP has persisted in innovating and adjusting to shifts in the market and community demands. The association uses digital tools for crop management and soil health monitoring, among other new technologies integrated into agricultural practices.
